Suggest Treatment After Being Scratched By A Dog

Hello Yesterday my 44kg 9yo labrador wrenched his back leg getting in to the car. I had some 100mg Tramadol SR that the vet had given him for arthritis which he hasn t had any of for a few weeks.. I gave him a tablet yesterday and another one at 7am today. His foot is bothering him. Is it ok to give him another tablet this evening to tide him over till I can take him to his vet tomorrow am?Thanks Heather

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

If the scratch is bleeding heavily, apply pressure with a clean towel until the bleeding has stopped.
Once the bleeding has subsided, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water for three minutes.
Clean and dry the skin, and then apply a small amount of antibiotic ointment and cover the wound with a bandage.
You can give anti inflamamtory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
