Suggest Treatment After Fiberglass Is All Over Cast On Wrist And Arm
I recently had surgery on my wrist & arm & have been in a cast for about a month. I am having a problem with pieces of fiberglass breaking off & have had to dig a few of these pieces out from inside the cast. I ve found six pieces in the last hour alone. Should I just go to the er & have them recast or splint (whichever they can do), or wait till I can reach my doctor? I know my doctor won t be in until Wednesday
* As per my clinical experience, depending upon the cast application status and period of it over fracture region, there is necessity to get the further solutions.
* As there is period of above 4 weeks in your case with the cast on wrist and arm, I think best level of fracture or crack alignement must be taken way till now.
* And hence there is absolutely no emergency to reach an ER to waste handsome amount of dollars.
* Kindly wait till your doc regular schedule visit and till the time , just take care of further breakage of the fiberglass.
* You can simply have help from sterile bandage application over the breaking part to disallow further breakage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
