Hi,

Ciprotab contains ciprofloxacin which belongs to the group of antibiotic medications known as quinolone is used to treat bacterial infections like urinary tract infections, infections of digestive system, prostatitis, chest infections, some sexually transmitted infections, bone and joint infections. Anti-microbial resistance to ciprofloxacin is raising worldwide, especially in bacteria causing urinary tract infections. Therefore, prudent use of these current antibiotic drugs is very much necessary.

It works by killing the bacteria which are the cause of the infection. Studies concluded that E. coli resistance to ciprofloxacin is increasing and that the medical community should consider restricting the use of this medication. You can use other antibiotics instead of Ciprotab are trimethoprim, azithromycin, levofloxacin, doxycycline, nitrofurantoin etc., after consulting your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
