- Diet in
Typhoid - If there is no abdominal distension, soft easily digestible
nourishing diet should be given.
But in case of distended & painful abdomen Intravenous fluids & electrolytes are given in a calculated way in indoor patient hospital.
- Antibiotics are usually given after culture & sensitivity test of blood. Till then empirical antibiotic ( Cefexim,ciprofloxicine, cephotaxim ) can be started with your treating doctor's consultation.
- Home management-
- complete bed rest/ light diet with plenty of liquid& water./ no exertion or psychological tension/ no
massage, fomentation of abdomen or exercises.
- Medication with strict regularity as per treating doctor;'s advise.

Paracetamol 6 hourly can be given after food to control high grade
fever .
- B complex supplements help.
