Suggest Treatment For 104 To 105 Degree Fahrenheit Fever

My daughter has 104 to 105 degree Fahrenheit fever for last twenty days. Widal test was positive as per report of one lab. We gave three Ceftriaxone injections and giving oral Cefixime daily. Her fever is not going and returns especially during night or at 4 to 5 P.M. We are giving double strength Paracetamol syrup whenever she gets fever.

Hello welcome to HCM. I understand your concern, You have to wait for 2-3 days to see the effect of treatement. The antibiotic level should increase to a level where it can fights against the bacteria. For this it needs time. Even after 3 days if fever is not coming down then have to get culture sensitivity test. This will help you to give bacteria sensitive drugs. Give meftal syrup instead of paracetamol with which fever may subside. Also please give tepid sponging with normal water. water should not be cold or hot. See that temp does not rise more than 102 degree. Take care
