Suggest Treatment For BOOP With Severe Muscle Weakness And Pain
A friend has BOOP and is on high leveld of steroids. One morning she was unable to get out of bed because she had muscle weakness and pain. She is now in rehab but cannot even sit in a wheelchair due to muscle weakness and pain. She has been told they are unable to diagnose her and is looking at going to a nursing home. Is there any specialist she should see?

High levels of steroids can cause proximal myopathy and cause her such muscle weakness that especially worsen waking up from bed and getting upstairs and so on.
I would recommend you to consult a neurologist and get the weakness evaluated and adjust the dose of steroids.
