Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is a 40 year old male, has been suffering from Bipolar Affective Disorder (BPAD) and drug abuse since last 18-20 years and during this period he has been treated for the same from various institutions. He is also an abuser of Cannabis and Alcohol and other unknown substances which he continues till date.
Of late he has become very aggressive and unmanageable at home which is affecting me and my wife as I and my wife are old people ( I am 75 years old and my wife is 70 years old respectively ). We were thinking of getting admitted in a psychiatric hospital for long term treatment and stay in the hope that he may get better.
Kindly let me know the procedure for the same as we are based in J&K.
You have to consult the psychiatrist in the hospital for admission and discuss about the symptoms your son has. In case, they feel, he needs admission, doctor will admit him immediately. You can try in mental hospital Srinagar or any government hospital with psychiatric in patient facility.
Thanks
