Suggest Treatment For CHF, Arthritis And Asthma When Diagnosed With Severe Anemia
I have been diagnosed with severe anemia. They are trying to find out why. No visible blood in urine or feces. I am diabetic, have CHF, arthritis, asthma and a kidney problem, but I don t know what kind. What can I expect at the urologist next week and what can the diagnosis possibly be? Thank you
This would mean that the numbers of Red blood cells are reduced. Anemia due low erythropoietin levels are seen with kidney failure as the kidney does not produce this hormone anymore. This hormone is responsible for increasing and for production of Red Blood Cells.
In Renal failure, erythropoietin injections can be given to help with this. Since this medication requires a prescription, you can discuss this with your doctor. Doing a kidney function test for this can help as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
