Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have copd, and had a really bad case of bronchitis over a month ago, I am still coughing at night but not like I was. I lost my voice down to a whisper, and still haven t recovered it completely. Should I be concerned? And what can I do to get my voice back.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and severe cough which is due to lung infection and due to poor immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. You should avoid exposure to inhaled irritant and air pollution. You should take oral cough suppressants or expectorants etc. You should take bronchodilator inhalers, nebulizer treatments, corticosteroids. Severe cases of COPD may require hospitalization. Visit pulmonologist once and get complete examination done. You should get pulmonary tests done and start treatment accordingly. You should keep yourself stay away from others who have infections as you have increased susceptibility of getting infected. Wash hands frequently to prevent the spread of infection.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
