My husband has COPD and has had severe urinary tract infections. He also has heart disease (had 5 bypasses in 2000. His pulmonary doctor prescribed Bevespi Aerosphere inhaler for him. He is now coughing more and is getting blood from his nose. He is on the following medications: Lisinopril Finasteride Simvastatin Bupropion Trazodone Prilosec Fluticasone Propionate, nasal spray Aspirin, 81 mg. Presser Vision (for Macular Degeneration Should he be on this medication?
Hello Dear. It looks like your husband is having a condition called benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). The best option for him is to undergo a surgery called Trans urethral resection of prostate (TURP). That may solve his urinary symptoms. Regarding COPD, if he is a smoker, he has to strictly give up smoking and eat nutritious food to improve body immunity. Bevespi Aerosphere is very good for patients with COPD. U can contact your pulmonary doctor and get evaluated by undergoing X ray, CT scan, bronchoscopy, biopsy etc to see if there is any other complication. If not, then the same treatment can be continued as prescribed by the doctor. Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
