Suggest Treatment For COPD, Emphysema And Sleep Apnea
My husband has COPD, emphyzema and sleep apnia. On Oct 11, 2014 he was admitted into the hospital with pnemonia. They had to ventilate him. He now has a trache. He has only had the trache in for maybe a week. Since then he has been running a fever off and on almost daily. They didn t even start trying to do the tests to see if he could swallow or anything until yesterday. He has been very aggitated because he wants to come home. When they tried to do the test. he wouldn t let them. Now they are trying to tell me that they have to put a tube in his stomach because he can t swallow. But they don t know if he can or not. Since he wouldn t let him. They haven t even given him a chance except the one time. Now they tell me that they have to put him into a care facility but can only get him into one that is an hour and a half away from where we live. Shouldn t they give him another chance or few to see if he can do it? And what are the risks of having the feeding tube in the stomach? He is already trying to give up. If they take him so far away, I have no way to be able to go see him or anything. If he s alone so far away he will definately give up. what can I do? please help me
I recommend you to undergo breathing exercises under the guidance of a physical therapist. strengthening the muscles of respiration at a proper rate and care in mind will help your husband. kindly meet the pulnonologist and a cardiologist before undergoing any strenous exercises
