Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was watching the Dec. 5th show including the part on Endometriosis when someone came to my door. I missed the part when a guest doctor was explaining a treatment to a woman on the show. Since my daughter suffering from this condition. What treatment did he suggest?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. In Endometriosis, tissue that normally grows inside the uterus (endometrium) grows outside it. Endoemetriosis treatment will depend on the cause and severity pf symptoms. It should be taken under the advise of gynecologist.
Following Hormonal therapy will be useful - Progestrone tablet : It counteracts estrogen and inhibits the growth of the endometrium- Oral contraceptive pills: reduce the pain associated with menstruation- Danazole and Gestrinone: also reduce the growth of endometrium- GnRH agonist can be useful- NSAIDS for pain relief.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
