Suggest Treatment For GERD And Anxiety

Hi, I am suffering from GERD. I am taking Nexprofast 40 mg & lesuride / cintapro (one dose each a day) as suggested by a senior gastroentologist from Apollo, chennai. Also I get twitching occasionally which disturbs my sleep. This whole scenario causes me anxiety at times and I feel very disturbed. Though I am adopting to life style changes, at times I had to deviate from it for social obligations. I don't drink and smoke.<br><br>Can you please advise whether I can still continue with the same medication or to be changed. I have relocated to Hyderabad recently.<br><br>

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have GERD and you are on right medicines for this. The symptoms like twitching which is disturbing the sleep, anxiety etc are most probably not related to GERD symptoms. This needs proper evaluation. For twitching and anxiety please consult a psychiatrist for help. Medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine or Fluvoxamine etc can help to reduce the anxiety symptoms and recurrent twitching. The twitching which is disturbing the sleep is one of distressing symptom of anxiety.

For proper sleep and control of symptoms of anxiety medicines like Benzodiazepines as Clonazepam, Lorazepam etc can help. These medicines can help in good sleep and will help in reducing the twitching. Please consult a psychiatrist for proper prescription.
