I was dx d about 2004 with GP ... I ve had 2 (TWO) gastric pace makers in and BOTH removed ... as of right now I m having serious pain, I believe it is due to me not having a BM for almost 2 months ... Along with GP I also have, OIC (opiate induced constipation, GERD, gastric erosion, ECT... WHAT CAN I DO? WHERE CAN I GO FOR REAL HELP?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Chronic constipation is a long term side effect of opiate. However, there exist many other possible causes of this condition. Some may include:
-Blockage in colon or rectum
-Problem with nerves around the colon and rectum
-Difficulty with muscles involved in elimination
-Hormonal imbalances
However, in your case, it could be due to opiate. I will suggest you try the following and if problem persist, you see your Doctor to investigate you for other possible causes listed above:
*Take enough fluids
*Eat enough fruits like soft pawpaw and avoid fruits like bananas
*High fiber diet
*You make take a laxative like duphalac
If the problem persist, you may see your Doctor for reevaluation and a possible change of drug.I will also suggest you see your Doctor to investigate you for a functional colopathy.
Hope this will help you
Best regards
