Suggest Treatment For GERD

I have GERD on a daily level.. I have atrial fibrillation and have had 4 episodes starting 11/21/21014, march 7, 2015, april 24, 2-15, and the latest one was July 16, 2015. I have been a runner, long distance cyclist and weightlifter most of my life, and do not drink nor smoke. I am 46, and have low cholesterol.. My rates went from 120 -193 beat per minute when i went to emergency room to get cardioverted.. My question one is this.... if i was out camping in the wilderness and could not get to a hospital quick, and my rates of heart beat were above 120 like they are when my a fib hits, how long could i safely put off getting cardioverted? thank you..

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

If I have understood correctly your question is not about GERD. Atrial fibrillation usually is safe in terms of its high rate and many people tolerate tachycardia for several hours. However, it is better to get checked regularly by a cardiologist to adjust your medications so that you have less episodes of uncontrolled atrial fibrillation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
