Suggest Treatment For Graves' Disease While On Methimazole

Hello, I was diagnosed with Grave's decease. I've been taking Methimazole 20 mg daily for 4 weeks and my AST test is 49 (was 28) U/L, ALK PHOS is 146 (was 111) U/L, ALT is 75 (was 31) U/L, FT4 is 0.87 (was 3.84) ng/dL, TSH is 0.06 (was 0.013) uIU/mL. My doctor said that I should take 10 mg daily now and may be to do RAI after that.
So I want to ask is RAI necessary? How the liver should react on Methimazole? Is it possible that my liver will recover?

Minor liver enzyme abnormalities are quite common. Liver damage is not very associated with methimazole. Liver enzymes often go up and down again. So recheck by doing a test for other disorders such as viral hepatitis and then perhaps looking for other causes.
