iam 49 years old have hiv and since march of 2011 have been to the er twice both time a stent was put in.the first stent was closing up so a second medicated stent was put in.my question is would a drug holiday be benificial to me until things settle down with my heart. my cd4 is about 800 and my viral load is undetectable,and has been for 13 years.my cd4 usually hovers at about 800-1000.

Your CD 4 count is very good. And viral load is undetectable its fantastic. You have very good immunity. If you dont have and symptoms then no need of medication right now. But in certain conditions hiv medications started irrespective of the CD 4 count. So its all depends on your symptoms. Consul physician if you hv any problem otherwise no need of treatment. Regularly do your CD 4 count.
