Hi Doctor, One of my collegue was detected with Hepatitis B Positive and the count was approximately 3.6%. he is working for a Microbiological laboratory in Food industry. his father died of the same disease. Questions: 1. Will this guy transmit any his disease to others ? 2. whether he can work in Food industry as per indian Regulations? 3. what is the treatment for him to cure the disease.
1. this guy may transmit the disease if he is infectious ( HBsAg and/or HBeAg is positive in blood) 2. not sure about regulations @food industry in India 3. Visit a hepatologist and treatment plan would depend upon HBsAg status and HBV DNA count on PCR
hope to answer your concern regards Dr Tayyab Malik
