Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Stomach ache and frequent stools could be due to a number of gastrointestinal disorders including gastric/duodenal ulcers and IBS.
To help answer you better, I would like the following clarifications :-
-how old are you? What is your height and weight?
-do you smoke or consume alcohol?
-are you a vegetarian?
-do you have a high stress job?
-do you have any other medical conditions or take any other medications?
-Have you had any blood tests or scan or
endoscopy /
colonoscopy procedures?
-how is your stoolstool? Consistency? Any mucus or blood?
-any fever or abdominal pain?
-any distention /
bloating right after meals?
I recommend
- blood tests (
complete blood count, kidney & liver function tests)
- endoscopy and colonoscopy to rule out ulcers,
inflammatory bowel disease -
ultrasound of the abdomen to look for any
gall stones , increased size of liver/spleen.
-a stool and urine analysis
Based on a detailed medical history, clinical exam and results of the above tests, we could arrive a thin a proper diagnosis.
In the meantime,
-maintain a diary of the foods you eat and write down when your symptoms occur or worsen
-avoid refined grains, carbonated /sugary drinks.
-limit caffeine intake to 1 cup a day.
-drink at least 3 liters of water a day (if not contraindicated by any other medical condition you may have)
-eat more frequently but smaller meals and chew your food well.
- avoid reusing oil, eating out, fried /spicy/oily foods
-include fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains (a variety rather that a single one)
-avoid having water with meals upto an hour after as well. Small sips if necessary.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
