Suggest Treatment For Klebsiella Pneumoniae Urinary Tract Infection
I finished my antibotics for a uti but my symptoms are back and my culture says it contains Klebsiella Pneumoniae. Should I be worried about it? My vagina is insanewly swollen right now and I had c diff a few years ago so I know how insane super bugs are.
Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Recurrent urinary tract infection are very common in females, few basic steps can reduce frequency of infections. Female anatomy have to be understood before knowing anything related to UTI, the short length of urethra( the part of urinary tract with orifice for outflow of urine) unlike males brings it more nearer to the anus thereby the bacteria from stool can easily infect urethra. Care must be taken to wash/ clean in only one direction away from urethra and vagina to prevent bacteria from stool coming in contact with either vagina or urethra. Wash the genital area using mild vaginal wash containing lactic acid. Add a daily dose of multivitamin to boost immunity. Before initiating antibiotic therapy try adding urinary alkalinizer available over the counter along with vaginal wash and if infection does not subside over 3 days start with antibiotics based on urine culture on sensitivity results. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
