Hi,
Solumedrol contains methylprednisolone which belongs to the group of medications known as
corticosteroids or steroids is used to treat conditions like steroids, blood disorders, severe allergic reactions, certain cancers, eye conditions, skin and soft tissue disorders, lungs diseases, kidney problems, immune system disorders and many more. Some studies suggested that steroid like Solumedrol treatment increase
lung infection risks for chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other lung diseases.
Solumedrol may cause sore throat, hoarseness, persistent dry cough etc. Again, Solumedrol may develop symptoms of allergic reactions such as itching, rashes, swelling of lips, tongue, throat, face, eyes, abdomen, hands or feet, coughing, wheezing, breathing difficulties, dizziness, rapid heartbeat etc. A new study suggests that even three months of low dose of steroids like Solumedrol treatment can increase the risk of fracture by 70%. Steroids can lead to bone loss,
osteoporosis, stress fractures, broken bones. Bone loss can happen rapidly especially when steroid medication is used in high doses. In such type of complications, inform your doctor immediately for
medical help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
