PCOD is a very common condition and it does interfere with pregnancy to a certain extent however it can be managed well. Pl make sure that she is maintaining a healthy diet with lots of vegetables, fruits and fiber rich diet. Weight gain is an issue in people with PCOD and it affects the ability of a woman to conceive.
Also, get her sugar levels monitored at regular intervals. Please review with a gynecologist and seek treatment for irregular periods. If there is an undue delay in conceiving then you can go for ovulation studies to know the pattern and time of ovulation which can help her in conceiving.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
