General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) is not generally considered a treatment for PCOD.
It is used for other conditions so she may want to have this clarified.

PCOD is treated with lifestyle changes ( weight loss of any excess weight) and medication if needed (Eg metformin, contraceptives- if does not wish to conceive, or meds to help with ovulation - if wish to conceive)

I hope this helps
