Hello doctor. I am 28 years old. I have PCOS and problem to concieve. My co worker advice me to drink ferros sulfate . Is it safe ? My two friends are thin and when they drink ferros they got pregnant. I was hoping to become pregnant thats why I drink ferros . It is my 3 day drinking for it. Is it safe? Pls advice :-)
PCOS is a condition where a hormonal abnormality causes your ovaries to have multiple follicles or cysts developing. They tend to make you infertile. It also causes you to put on weight, have acne, etc. My advice is to go to your obgyn as they can recommend treatments like clomiphene to help you ovulate. Ferrous sulfate is an iron supplement that only helps with anemia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
