Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
If diagnosed with PCOS in late 20 s and suffered through 10 years of infertility before becoming pregnant, then following C-section delivery and fairly normal periods for a couple of years, started with extremely heavy periods, underwent thermal ablation of the uterine lining, only to have my periods stop with menopause a couple of years later at age 46. So, after menopause do you still have PCOS?
Menopause does not cure PCOS. PCOS continues to remain even after menopause. In PCOS there will be lack of female hormones like estrogen and progesterone and increase in male hormone testosterone. Even after menopause there will be lack of female hormones and increase in male hormone. You need to continue your regular medications of hormone replacement therapy without fail. Also, follow few other things like: regular exercise, healthy foods, and weight control.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sanjay Kini
