Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have headaches basically every day. I have tmj and it has gotten extremely worse in order to open ny mouth it's a very loud and painful click and just moving my neck in circles to stretch has made it so I end up with more headaches, my last severe episode was a migraine that lasted 4 days ending finally after spending roughly 30 hours on and off sleeping. Since the migraine I'm back to the regular tension headaches daily. What can I do, my doctor thinks it's depression is never checking my jaw neck back or hello brain. Any ideas??
As per your complain headache can be a radiating pain from jaw joints and as you already known to have TMJ you need to consult an Oral Physician/ Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Panoramic x ray can help in diagnosis and management of the same will be done accordingly...
You can be advised a combination of painkillers and muscle relaxant, physiotherapy, mouth guards and stress relaxation exercises and meditation.. Anti anxiety medication can also be given.. Massage the sides of face in gentle round movement of fingers.. Take soft diet and avoid excessive mouth opening.
Hope this helps..
Regards.
