I am a bladder cancer survivor for 7 years. I do get urinary tract infection often(3-4 times a year), problem I have now is I am / or urinates drops involuntarily last few days. Of course with my history I am bit worried. I just came back last month for 2 year follow up with A+ grade(MD Anderson Cancer Center). So why would pee(urinating) involuntarily be happening?
Urinary dribbling is a common but embarrassing problem. It occurs more often as people get older. you are suffering from overflow incontinence meaning you experience frequent or constant dribbling of urine due to a bladder that doesn't empty completely. The following are few probable causes: 1) Changes with age 2) Menopause 3) Enlarged prostate 4) Pregnancy 5) After child birth if there is perineal tear 6) Prostatic hyperplasia or BPH 7) Urinary tract infections 8) Chronic constipation 9) Temporary incontinence is seen with taking
Alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks, heart and blood pressure medications, anti depressants.
Frequent urinary tract infections are common post radical cystectomy or removal of urinary bladder with new bladder than with ileal conduit. You may consult any physician and can use a prolonged course of antibiotics which keeps recurrence at bay.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
