Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So recently I got diagnosed with ureaplasm. I ve been stuffing with bv, UTIS and yeast infections for months on end. I had gotten a culture done and I have tested positive for ureaplasm. My boyfriend and I have unprotected sex. I ve been on antibiotics for 4 days and him and I have had sex while I m still taking antibiotics. Tomorrow he is going to get tested as well. Will that affect my recovery? Will I get reinfected?
If both you and your boyfriend take antibiotics, then the chance of an infection is usually low. However, because there may be some soreness and injury over the areas of Sexual infection, it might be a good idea to avoid sexual intercourse to prevent injury and aggravating of the STDs.
Usually, it would be best to use contraception along with using lubrication to prevent too much injury due to friction.
However, the best course of action is usually to avoid sexual intercourse to avoid further complications or injury.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni, General & Family Physician
