Hi Dr. Samuel, My Brother is 47 yes. old he haves Down symdrome and he has had U.T.I for years now first they would go away But now he been on many different antibiotics and the U.T.I. will not go away ... he has even been on antibiotics for 60 days at a time .... and still wont go away
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. He has urinary tract infection not responding to antibiotics. He should go for blood sugar level and ultrasound abdomen. He may have some predisposing factors like diabetes or benign prostatic hyperplasia. He should go for urine culture and sensitivity test and take antibiotics accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
