Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

Is your daughter full-term baby? What was her birth weight? A VSD is a common congenital heart defect. Thank you for providing the size of the opening between her ventricles. This doesn't seem to be extremely large.

If she has no problems feeding and is growing and developing normally, then her doctors will most likely want to watch her without doing surgery.

As she continues to grow the VSD will get smaller and close completely on its own. Sorry, it took so long to send a reply to you. I did not receive the information you sent.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
