Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I are some eggs and toast and some of the food is stuck in my throat. Can I take anything to make me throw up? I ve tried to drink a lot of water, but it won t go past the blockage. ( a small amount of the water goes through). Can t seem to get anything to work to clear my throat out. Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query blockage in the throat due to food due to granular pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles. . If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. Sip warm water after every few minutes. Doctor may also examine with laryngoscope to rule out any foreign substance of food particle . Doctor may remove if there is anything surgically under local anesthesia .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
