Suggest Treatment For A Fluid-filled Bump On The Chin
I have a fluid filled pimple on my chin and its been there for a few days. Its filled with clear liquid and is not hard to the touch but feels a little tight. Since this doesn t have a head and is so far under the skin i don t know how to get rid of it!
I can understand your concern. If the fluid filled swelling is painful when you touch it, it might be an abscess due to tooth infection or from some other source. In that case, you should visit a dentist or physician and get the source diagnosed and abscess drained of pus along with antibiotic coverage.
However, if the swelling is not painful, it might be a cyst. Cyst is a fluid filled cavity which is lined by a single layer of cells. If the cyst is drained like abscess, it has chances of recurrence. For permanent removal of the cyst, a small surgical procedure is necessary which removes the entire cyst along with its lining.
I would advise you to visit a dentist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the correct diagnosis of the swelling with clinical examination and other investigations like x-ray. Treatment can be decided after confirmed diagnosis.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
