Suggest Treatment For A Growing Lump Near The Shin Above The Ankles

Hi 1 month ago in Costa Rica, I noticed a small lump next to my shin above the ankle. I flew to America for a holiday and I ve noticed it has grown incredibly. It s not attached to the bone, you can hold it. You can also see the swelling compared to the left ankle/ leg. It started off at 1 cm x1cm. Now it s 3cm x 2cm. I went to a doctor and he said not to worry it s probably a hematoma... But now 4 days after seeing the doctor I have 2 new lumps. One higher up the shin and one right side of ankle. They are all warm to touch, painless. I m feeling worried.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Warm lumps can be infectious. However, infections are usually accompanied by pain. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and to get an aspiration cytology of the lumps to know the nature of cells in the lump.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
