Suggest Treatment For A Itchy Painful Lump On The Head

I have a lump on the left side of my head. It hurts to touch it and sometimes it s itchy. I m concerned. I have had it for two weeks andI don t want to be freaking out about it. Two weeks ago I had my left bottom wisdom tooth removed. Could there be a connection?

Hi,
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

Your medical history is strongly suggestive of an abscess on your scalp which might have been caused by a hair follicle infection , however your lump may also be caused by a infected sebaceous cyst , A sebaceous cyst may occur if you have a blocked sweat gland or hair follicle. However it doesn't cause pain but it may occasionally get infected and can be painfull

You should not freaking about it and i would strongly suggest you to visit your dr , he will examine it thoroughly and may go for necessary Medical investigations to make a confirm diagnosis

As most of the painfull masses are benign but need medical treatment because an infected cyst or abscess on scalp and head if left untreated can lead to infection in deeper tissue including brain
So have it checked ASAP

I hope it helps
