Suggest Treatment For A Lump In The Chest

My son (19 YO) found a lump on his chest, near the center and just to the right (between dead center and the pectoral muscle). It appeared suddenly, or at least he had not noticed it before, and it s about the size of a bean. He went to urgent care and they had no idea. Thought it might be a cyst, but really not sure. The told him to see his primary doctor, but his doctor quit and he does not have one (plus, my son is away at college). I got him in with a nurse practitioner this Tuesday. What should he ask for at this appointment? Ultrasound? X-ray? Blood work? Any guidance will help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated.

A CT scan is required to get a better clinical.

A CT guided biopsy can also be considered in case of diagnostic confusion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
