Dear Doctor I am 43 yr old female from Delhi. I felt a lump in my neck around 20 days back.I got it checked up and undergone the following tests as advised. T3,T4,TSH------------------------------------------The Reports are normal Ultrasound Guided FNAC--------Report concludes nodular Colloid Goitre with cystic changes in right lobe. No evidence of any malignancy Ultrasound of Thyroid------------Report is suggestive of Single thyroid nodule in each lobe with cystic degeneration. These findings could be consistant with colloid nodules Radio Isotope Thyroid scan-----The study is suggestive of Grade I/II Goitre with clinically pulpable ‘cold” nodule in the lower half of the right lobe. My doctor is suggesting surgical removal of the nodule.I request your valuable advice
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have colloid goitre with cystic degeneration. Treatment options are surgical excision or go for follow up after six months. It is not canceroud so if ypu don't have any symptoms then you can wait. But it needs regular follow up. Or go for surgery. Consult your doctor and plan accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
