Hello,
I can understand your concern. There can be more than one possibilities after
injury to the lip that can cause the swelling or lump you have described.
If the lip was bitten too hard, it is possible that the tissues underlying the skin of the lip were hurt and they were healed by a fibrous
connective tissue causing a lump. Alternatively, the lip may have been infected while healing causing an
abscess that may require antibiotic treatment and/or
drainage of the lump. It could also be possible that when you bit the lip, minor
salivary gland present in the lip was hurt causing a
cyst. This cyst may require surgical removal. As the lump is painless, I am pressing more on the presence of cyst as bacterial infections and abscesses hurt a lot.
It is very hard to confirm the diagnosis without physically diagnosing the lump and taking an x-ray of the area. Thus, I would advise you to visit a
dentist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the examination of the area and investigation such as x-ray. Based on that, a diagnosis can be made and treatment can be decided.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best,
