Suggest Treatment For A Pain That Radiates From The Left Ear To Shoulder

I was sitting in my recliner this afternoon watching a movie and now I have a pain in my neck that is debilitating. I took tylenol extra strength at 7:30 p.m. central time but have had little or no relief. If I move my head in certain ways the pain shoots from just under my left ear down my neck to my upper shoulder.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since there was no improvement when the tylenol was used then you may want to consider adding another pain medication from another family of drugs to see if this would help.

An anti inflammatory pain killer can be added such as naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen, voltaren.

If there is no improvement with the addition of one of these medications to the tylenol then you may need a muscle relaxant as well.

That would have to be prescribed by your doctor.

Eg of muscle relaxants are soma, robaxin, flexeril, valium

I hope this helps
