Suggest Treatment For A Painful Blister On The Finger

my son who is 15 started with pain and what looked to be a blister to his left middle finger, now the skin has started peeling off. Everyday it has spread...now to the 2nd and 4th digits. It begins with what looks like a dry blister, then the skin falls off. At night when he is sleeping, its gone. Within about 15 minutes of being up and around, the blisters form again and the skin will start to slough off throught the day. He says its very painful

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Exact diagnosis made by examination, you can send me the picture.

I think it is herpes infection, because of painful and spreading nature.
Consult the doctor and get done test for herpes like herpes simplex antigen and antibody by Elisa.
Other causes may be trauma, infection, allergy, allergy, immunological disorder like bullos impetigo.

Advice:
Do not pop the blister it can cause infections
After brusting you can wash with water and then
Apply bandage till it heals
Oral acyclovir tablet
Apply acyclovir/valcyclovir ointment
Also apply neomycin ointment to prevent infection
You can also apply calamine lotion

Hope this may help you
