Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 11 months old and fell down some carpeted stairs, she sustained a lump to the crown of her head straight away but slowly seems to be going down, other than that she seems fine in herself crawling around and playing but i cant help but think about the internal side of things like bleeding etc
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful lump on the head . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query infected scalp follicle , boil , neurofibroma , bruises with cellulitis or local scalp infection . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may check tenderness and consistency , take sample for lab test and order CT scan or ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics and anti inflammatory for atleast 5 days . For now apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
