Suggest Treatment For A Pimple On My Buttock

I have a what feels like an under the skin pimple on my buttock. It is very painful and sensitive to the slightest touch. I have had this for about a week and it might be getting bigger. Is there any thing I can do at home to soothe the pain...it really hurts

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,

Because the pimple on your buttock is painful, itself suggests that it might be an active infection. So , first and foremost take a painkiller , like signoflam, twice daily , after food to decrease the pain and reduce the inflammation.

A dose of antibiotic may be considered as the infection has been there since a week. Any preparation of amoxicillin-clavulanate 625 mg twice daily for five days would be of great help.

Hot fomentation at the affected site may lead to discharge of pus.

Avoid having spicy food. Increased fluid intake is encouraged .

Consult a surgeon in case required.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr.Pallavi Jain.
