Suggest Treatment For A Raised And Tender Skin On The Lower Legs
We are leaving tomorrow for a cruise and I am concerned about an area in the side of my lower leg-about 1 1/2 to 2 in inch circle. Raised and very tender to touch. Seems a little hard when you lightly touch it. The area has gotten smaller since this morning, but now it definitely hurts. Looked up what it could be..blood clot. But not sure. What could it be. Oh, yes, this morning it was quite warm to touch. I am 82, 125 lbs. VERY active- gym, yoga...I do not sit, I am not over weight. If that helps you.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Its likely from what you have described that you are suffering from eryhthema nodusum. Its commonly secodary to viral/pneumococal infections and it usually resolves on its own. But it is also associated with Tuberculosis, Sarcoidosis and inflammatory bowel disease , so if you have any cough, fever, weight loss, diarrhea along with this rash than I suggest you to visit your physician and have complete physical examination and lab tests if any of the above disease is suspected. Hope I have answered your question, if you have any query please feel free to ask. Wish you good health.
