Suggest Treatment For A Reddish Rash On The Cheek From An Insect Bite
I have what appears to be an allergic reaction to an insect bite I recieved while out of state. IT started small on my check and has grown three times larger in a few weeks. It is the size of a nickel now and raised and swollen. It is darker red in color. It itches and sometimes is hotter than the rest of my face. What can I do? My dermatologist has biopseyed it and the pathologist determined it to be benign, however she wants additional test done. In the meantime however, it has tripled in size and is rather uncomfortable. Do you have an opinion for treatment?
The symptoms you had mentioned are mostly suggestive of some fungal infection or allergic dermatitis. For treatment you can take some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or doxycycline after an expert opinion along with avil or cetrizine for severe itching. You can take fluconazole 150mg once daily for at-least 5 days or use candid-b powder or betnovate-c cream for local application. Take combiflam or ibugesic-plus for swelling and inflammation.
