Suggest Treatment For A Severe Sunburn

I have a severe sunburn (deep red in color) that I got on the beach 2 weeks 1 day ago (June 24, and today is July 14th) It stll stings, itches and painful. I have deen using Solorcaine and taking antihistamine. But not helping. I have also used Cortizone10 ultra moisturizing and that made it more itchy. It has peeled about 6 times a few place was like scales, second and third time it peeled the other times peeled like normal sundurn would. Should it be healed by now. My friends tell me to go to dr or dermatologist.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sunburn, typically shows up anywhere from 24 to 72 hours after being in the sun. Experiencing itchiness after 2 weeks isn't usual so I think you should take an appointment with a dermatologist. Maybe to make some examination like dermatoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
