Please type your query here...my boyfriend had a urine infection and has had 3 courses of antibiotics to clear it up . now his scrotum has swelled to twice the size and is very red and very painful .... there has been mention of the infection going through his prostate and into the right ball... he is awaiting a prostate test .. should we go to hospital before the date they send for him just to check the swelling??
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted history about your boyfriend getting 3 courses of antibiotics for urinary tract infection. Now has prostitits and inflammation of testes. This may be due to infection. I would advise you the following. -Go to the hospital immediately. Tests of blood, urine routine, microscopy , culture and sensitivity. Ultrasonography and color Doppler of abdomen and scrotum. Intensive antibiotic therapy is needed and rest of the treatment as per the findings on clinical evaluation and tests reports will help pepper diagnosis and treatment.
