Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Gland Under The Jaw
A gland just under my jaw in my throat feels swollen. it does not look swollen and it is not painful, just a bit tender.I have had it for 5 or 6 days and it seems to get more swollen in the evenings then less swollen in the morning. can i expect this to get better on its own?
As per your complain swelling under the jaw line can be due to 2 reasons: 1. It can be due to either infection or clogged duct of the submandibular salivary gland that is located in that position. 2. Other cause can be due to inflamed submandibular lymph nodes which can be due to infection in head and neck region causing Reactionary Lymphadinitis.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if it is due to salivary gland cross sectional x ray or MRI can help in diagnosis.. If it is due to lymph nodes biopsy can help..
Hope this information helps..
