Suggest Treatment For A Wasp Sting For My 9-year-old Son

My son is 9 and he was stung by a wasp two and half weeks ago and every day since he has had a rash. We have been giving him Benadryl and the rash goes away. How long can the wasp venom stay in body? Just wondering how much longer he is going to have to be going through this?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Wasp venom usually causes anaphylaxis. However, it causes mild rashes till 2 to 3 weeks. Please go to a petiatrician and get shot of hydrazine antihistamines, so it will reduce sooner.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
