Suggest Treatment For A White Layered Coating On The Penis Despite Taking Canesten

Hello, recently I got candida from my girlfriend and I ve been treating it with Canesten. I stopped a week after when symptoms got away (itching and white layer on penis). Now I get white layer once in a two days but I have a burning sensation when I pull the forskin, even cleaning it with water hurts at the beggining. I think its probably Candida again (since I treated only for a week) but I m afraid that it could be chemical reaction to Canesten. Should I continue with Canesten or?

Hi,

I would advise you the following in such a condition:
Clean the area with plain water 2 to 4 times a day and keep it dry with a pure cotton cloth or a dryer.
You may apply liquid Povidone Iodine locally or a Metronidazole cream.
A course of antibiotics and metronidazole and a dose of an oral anti-fungal tablet should help you to get a cure if local hygiene fails to cure the problem; you need a valid prescription for this.
Please get your Blood Sugar checked regularly. If diabetic then get the sugar well controlled.
Circumcision is rarely required if the prepuce is long, covers glans and the condition is recurrent or if you have diabetes.
If you are sexually active, your partner too needs to take the same treatment.
