Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently acquired abdominal pain that went from bloating to acute pain as if I was constipated or had gas. I took a couple of soft stool relaxers that help with passing stool which was quite a bit. Then I thought I had eaten something that cause food poisoning because I obtained a fever and then in the middle of the night projectile vomiting. I felt better as far as symptoms of fever and nausea but the pain in my abdomen was there. I woke up the next morning and the pain was not there but I was sore and still a little sore. I have no more symptoms of whatever I had but my discharge from my vagina is clear with no smell just clear fluid. Is this situation more severe than I think? I ask because I read up on ectopic pregnancy and wonder could this have been a possibility?
A certain degree of bloating is normal but in case of excessive bloating, it may be a sign of food allergy, hiatal hernia, IBS or inflammatory bowel diseases.
So you should do gastroenterology work up but first try to change your dietary habits, it means: eat smaller meals but more frequently, avoid fried and spicy food, take menta tea, avoid alcohol and coffee, eat probiotics and milk products, boiled food and vegetables.
Also, there are medications such as Flobian, Magnesium oxide or certain Laxatives which may relieve such symptoms of this continue. If there is no improvement on these measures, you should consider doing diagnostic tests such as colonoscopy, anal sphincter manometry and food allergy testing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
