Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Bloating And ITBS
2 days ago I had diarrhea and then approx. 8 hours later I had a throbbing/sharp pain in my left lower abdomen. My bowels are not moving, but I have taken a stool softener as I have been diagnosed with ITBS, but have never had this kind of pain. The pain has lessened, but my abdomen feels bloated. I did do some extensive gardening work in the morning 2 days ago. Also, I am experiencing a lot of gas.
Your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome. I suggest to continue using stool softener. I also suggest using Simethicone medication to relieve the bloating. I recommend to eat a fiber rich diet and drink a lot of liquids. In case of pain you should use a spasmolytic such as Buscopan 10 mg which can be taken.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
